Salford’s Lee Mossop says facing Wigan in Super League play-offs is ‘perfect game’

Salford Red Devils’ Lee Mossop states that their game against Wigan Warriors at the Super League play-offs is your”best match” for them.
Many tipped Salford for relegation however, following a successful year under the guidance of coach Ian Watson, they finished third and procured their play-off spot.
Prop Mossop, who proceeded out of Wigan into the Red Devils, says as they seem to make the semi-finals, it is the perfect game for them.
He said:”We are full of confidence at the minute. Wigan this week we’ve got and it is the ideal game for us.
“They’ve been here each year, they are reigning champions, and they know how to win these games. It will give us a good idea of where we’re at.
“Although we’re not disrespecting them, we’re very confident going up from them.”
A win against Leeds Rhinos a couple of weeks confirmed their spot from the play-offs, before it had been confirmed using a victory against Hull on Friday.
They therefore so are currently targeting the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 12 and have.
Mossop stated:”We are obviously very pleased where we’re but happy enough nonetheless. See where it takes and we want to keep moving in these play-offs.
“At the onset of the year we were getting beat by two points, four points, and we simply could not put our finger on why.
“We believed that if we place our intentions we can challenge many teams but it simply wasn’t happening.
“Luckily enough, we’ve managed to flip it about. We are on a run and, with each game, we’re getting a growing number of confidence.
“From the adversity we’ve faced this year, the little team we’d, along with the financial stuff behind the scenes – it is all leading to that fairytale ending”
