Notre Dame (9) vs Louisville
Monday, September 2 nd, 8:00 PM in Cardinal Stadium
Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and leave our college football selections on the Monday night match between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals and then that I shall deviate to dip our feet.
It will almost certainly be the very first and only time this season we do so, as the previous week of exhibition NFL football is somewhat lackluster compared to some regular-season game of NCAA football featuring one of the greatest teams in the nation, and a mythical soccer program to boot up, Notre Dame.
Without further ado, lets start the discussion after my friend Doug Upstone got the best of me last week with a bet on the Steelers while the Titans were supported by me. We have been swapping wins forth and back so it appears like it is my turn to get the wreath, as I will follow the squares putting the thick lumber onto a public road favorite and endorse the Irish.
After reviewing the school football odds almost six days prior to this Monday night event, I see the lineup has spiked a half-point on the favorite, starting at Notre Dame -19 1/2 to where it is now offered in a solid -20 across the board at all of the very best internet sportsbooks.
I like the Irish but you are leaning onto the Cardinals in this season-opening battle. Aside from the place, why is it that you believe Louisville could hang with the boys?
Doug Upstone: Yup IMO and at least a convincing win, said a lot about the direction of both the Steelers and Titans. Let us move forward to real soccer, will our records with this one and where the games count.
Remember all those Thursday night games Louisville utilized to play against big-name opponents? They held their own and engineered upsets. These were enjoyable games to watch and the Cardinals were a thrilling golf club.
However, such as the former Papa Johns Stadium as well as its phony (in real life) proprietor, Louisville soccer last year was worse than a three-day-old pizza.
Scott Satterfield will be out win matches and to change the civilization and worked miracles. This will not happen right away as the ability level is down in theVille. However this is a huge time for Louisville, a team that has the opportunity.
I have read in which the Cards coaches have sped up the slow mechanics of QB Jawon Pass (good name for a QB) and that I like Hassan Hall as the lead running back. Than using a ticket for the Colts at OVER 9 for season 23, the defense, well, which makes me more nervous. Please do tell you have your Irish up.
Swinging Johnson: The Cardinals wont be doing much as the Notre Dame defense will keep them cozy in their nest, flying into the match. Scott Satterfield is in the big leagues and he has a team coming from a dismal record last year, in which they went winless. This rebuild is akin to carrying a hot air balloon and trying to turn it.
While that may eventually happen, the issue is that Louisville is confronting a group which made it to the CFP last year and owned one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, surrendering just 17.2 points within the regular season and going a perfect 12-0 till they met Clemson in the CFP semifinals. The offense was clicking on all cylinders also, averaging 33 points per game over.
My question is, how can be a quarterback like Pass who is slow to release, supposed to obtain some traction against a swarming shield? Particularly when hes working with a trainer and an offensive scheme?
Please, Doug, save me I am lost! I see no way, shape or form where Louisville will have the ability to keep pace and Im desperate for handicapping expertise that is prodigious and the ancestral wisdom!
Doug Upstone: Well, Swinger, I am glad to read in your last sentence you are coming on to the sunny side of sports gambling, or youre just being the identical shrewd a** you are. Ill let the SBR readers who are currently making school football picks decide on that. Im the first to realize Louisville sucked and was 1-11 ATS, although not only 2-10 final season.
Just like he gave up on the Atlanta Falcons, but that team COMPLETELY gave up on coach Bobby Petrino. A new attitude is brought by A new coach on making a statement, and with this being a federal game, his staff will be sold by Satterfield. Louisville does need to hope never and the Irish will take them for granted have much fight.
Lets also consider, Brian Kelly with gold and the blue is just 10-13-1 ATS as a road favorite, and a ATS if dishing out 20 or more digits. This defense you said may improve as the season progresses but substituting five starters, even whenever you dont/can not recruit like Bama or Clemson, it will take time.
I was being a bit facetious because although you have an handicapping restart, then you miss the mark from time to time. And in this case, you happen to be shooting blanks because Louisville might be greater but I would submit that they could be coached by a Rhesus monkey and enhance upon their record rendered by an coach like Petrino.
I understand that placing nearly 3 touchdowns on the road would be square biz for certain along with Joe Q. Public never got rich by betting the heavy street chalk, but at times the people is correct, and in this case they certainly are. Until once we get down on our NFL Game of the Week, next week, lets see what happens on Monday when the Irish come prepared to squint at Louisville.
Free College Football Pick: Swinging Johnson — Notre Dame -20 (-110)
Free College Football Pick: Doug Upstone — Louisville +20 (-110)

Notre Dame (9) vs Louisville

Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and I shall detract from our regularly scheduled plan of NFL debate to dip our toes into uncharted waters and leave our school football selections on the Monday night game between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals.
It will almost certainly be the very first and only time this year we do so, as the previous week of exhibition NFL football is somewhat lackluster compared to a regular-season sport of NCAA soccer comprising one of the very best teams in the nation, and a mythical football program to boot, Notre Dame.
Without further ado, let us start the debate after my friend Doug Upstone got the best of me last week with a wager about the Steelers while I backed the Titans. We have been swapping wins back and forth so it looks like its my turn to the wreath, as I heartily endorse the Irish and will follow all the squares laying the lumber onto a public street favorite.
After reviewing the college football odds almost six days before the Monday night event, I see the lineup has spiked a half-point about the favorite, opening at Notre Dame -19 1/2 to where its presently offered in a solid -20 round the board at all the very best internet sportsbooks.
You are currently leaning on the Cardinals although I like the Irish. Apart from the place is it that you believe Louisville could hang with the boys in South Bend?
Doug Upstone: Yes at least and a convincing triumph IMO, said a great deal about the management of the Steelers and Titans. Let us move forward to soccer, so will our recordings on this one and where the matches count.
Remember those Thursday night matches Louisville utilized to play against competitions that are big-name? They held their engineered and own many upsets. These were fun games and the Cardinals were a thrilling club.

The shield, well, which makes me more nervous than using a ticket for the Colts at OVER 9 for season wins. Why you have your Irish up, please dont forget.
Swinging Johnson: The Cardinals will not be doing much flying into this game as the Notre Dame defense will keep them cozy in their nest. Scott Satterfield is presently in the big leagues and he has a team coming from a dismal album in which they went winless this past year. This rebuild is comparable to trying to turn it into an F-22 Raptor and carrying a hot air balloon.
While this may eventually happen, the issue is that Louisville is confronting a group which made it into the CFP this past year and possessed one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, devoting only 17.2 points over the regular season and moving a perfect 12-0 till they fulfilled Clemson from the CFP semifinals. The Irish offense was clicking on all cylinders averaging 33 points per game over.
My question is, how will be a quarterback like Pass whos slow to discharge, designed to gain any traction against a swarming Irish shield? Especially when he is working with an offensive strategy and a coach?
Please, Doug, rescue me I am lost! I find no way, shape or form in which Louisville is going to be able to keep pace with this Golden Domers and Im desperate for the sage wisdom and prodigious handicapping experience!

A new mindset is brought by A new trainer and his staff will be sold by Satterfield on building a statement, with this being a game. Lets also think about, Brian Kelly using gold and the blue is ATS as a road favorite, and when dishing out 20 or more digits, a mere 7-9-1 ATS. That defense you said may improve as the year progresses but substituting five starters, even if you dont/can not recruit like Bama or Clemson, it will take time.
I was becoming a bit facetious because although you have an handicapping restart, then you miss the mark from time to time. US Open Betting Preview

Welcome to US Open week…or better called the week that USGA takes a historic golf program and finds new and various techniques to destroy it. The only good news this week is that Mike Davis has relinquished his yearly butchering of the golf program and turned it over to John Bodenhamer who has run USGA amateur occasions because 2011. I have to think John can not possibly screw up the course set-up anywhere close to what Mike Davis has done the last couple of years. Again, the bar is not set very high unfortunately.
The best news of the week however is that we come back to the West Coast meaning we receive primetime golf. I can’t begin to tell you just how much me arouses. Sunday breakfast in the Masters and Saturday night US Open golf at Pebble Beach two weeks apart is about as good as it gets in my opinion.
Let’s just assume John isn’t a complete idiot like Mike Davis and he leaves well . We receive a US Open, as intended, on a historic course with tight fairways, long rough and not a clown’s mouth in site. Going off this assumption I believe this week we’re left with a few of this year’s most powerful leaderboards. To put it differently, I think this week, that the cream rises to the surface. So with no real major surprises will the best on earth shake this week? We break down the contenders from the area for the 2019 US Open.
(As always, odds are at the time this was written and Will Likely change throughout the week)

Mets vs. Braves MLB Pick – August 14th

The New York Mets went to a monster rush to get into the wildcard hunt in the National League and now they cannot afford to relax. They dug a massive enough gap for themselves that a 16-1 run is not going to reduce it. While it had been a remarkable job from the Mets, they’re not even in the Wild Card Game if this was now. They wouldn’t even be the first team outside.
The Mets will complete the year 2 games back of this postseason, whereas the Nationals and also Cardinals determine who moves on into another round. Since heading 16-1, the Mets have lost their past two matches. They failed to finish off the Nationals with a sweep and had difficulties against the Braves on Tuesday night.
Max Fried gather a top notch performance, as he outpitched Zack Wheeler to your triumph. The Mets had to be the most bet underdog about the card yesterday evening. Everybody has been decreasing in love with them, but future success is not guaranteed due to this enormous effort. That said, the National League wildcard race is wide open and the Mets have the best turning from those teams vying for a place.
The Braves don’t have to mess up with wildcards and have the inside track to securing the top place in the NL East. They are holding onto a 6-game lead from the and don’t seem to be letting go of this but a lot can change in a hurry. The Nationals are still living and have a puncher’s chance at erasing six matches.
Even the Braves’ bullpen have experienced difficulties, so their replacements beamed down the stretch is what the Nationals need. Dallas Keuchel hopes to have a good deal of innings before needing to visit the bullpen tonight. Keuchel gets the nod from Steven Matz of the Mets on Wednesday night in SunTrust Park.
Betting odds provided by bovada.lv
The Braves have responded well after blowing a 4-run lead in the 9th from the Marlins on Saturday. In what had been their most painful loss of the year, the bullpen completely dropped and let a 6-2 lead become a 7-6 loss. Great teams know how to bounce back from barbarous losses, though, along with the Braves figured out it and have won the two games since with a score of 5-4 and 5-3.
They obtained strong begins from Foltynewicz and Fried in back excursions. Foltynewicz getting into form for the last stretch of the regular season and season would be huge to the Braves. He’s been off the mark from this past year, but Atlanta would find a huge boost when he is able to turn it around. Keuchel has been sporadic since signing up with the Braves.
The company will be looking for much more with games becoming more significant. In any event, Keuchel has excelled in the home using the ERA of 2.96 and also 0.84 WHIP in 27.1 innings of work. He hasn’t allowed more than just 3 runs in an endeavor at home thus far. He’s been adequate against this Mets roster in the past, holding them to a .254 average in 181 at-bats.
Matz has not had too much success, with the Braves hitting .292 with a .366 OBP and 17 runs scored in 120 at-bats. The Mets have scored only 3 runs in 61 more appearances at the plate from Keuchel. Matz has not been this greatest on the road.
He has been terrible actually. As a seeing hurler, Matz has published a 6.79 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 55.2 innings of work. He has surrendered 16 extended balls in comparison to only 4 at Citi Field in Queens. Variance is Very Likely to last Wednesday for the Mets, as they drop into the Braves at SunTrust Park to get a second successive day.

Singapore GP set for pecking order refresh as Red Bull battle Mercedes

This weekend will be almost surely changed substantially at Singapore by the competitive pattern between the three leading teams observed in the last two races.
Ferrari’s hopes of continued its series in Spa and Monza must be considered weak. By contrast, Red Bull may feel justified in feeling quite optimistic about this race, because of special technical reasons in the two circumstances.
Where does this leave the prospects of Mercedes?
Singapore GP: Accepting F1 into the Sky
The new generation of f1 is rising
What is the Singapore GP on Sky?
Concerning circuit demands, there may not be a starker contrast between Monza a week along with Singapore. Whereas the Italian path is about low drag even at the cost of downforce, the road circuit across the town state demands the complete reverse.
As quantified by lap period a given increase in downforce may purchase, singapore is twice as sensitive to downforce as Monza. It is significantly less than half as sensitive to haul. In terms of the track’s power sensitivity, Singapore is down close to the bottom of the listing worth just around two-thirds of the lap time it would reward you with Monza.
From the GPS traces (as provided from the FIA) all the groups see, they each know the relative strengths and weaknesses of each others’ cars. The design between the top 3 cars this year is very clear and shows the Ferrari to be low in drag but comparatively weak and super-strong in power in downforce. Since its strengths tend to be less valued at Singapore compared to Monza, and its weaknesses punished more, it is probably not going to be putting the pace through the roads – though Sebastian Vettel (a four-time pole winner , just like Lewis Hamilton) has pulled out some outstanding qualifying laps in the past and Charles Leclerc is super-quick around road tracks.
Red Bull has flown around Singapore because it generated a car with a terrific spread of ranges. To this pattern, the RB15 has conformed Because its mid-season upgrades and the staff has been very selective about when to introduce its updated Honda Spec 4 power units to maximise its chances around a track in.
This downforce brings an associated cost in haul and hence at its finest – which is why those races were chosen for the motor penalties of Max Verstappen and Alex Albon respectively the car was not seen at Spa and Monza. This counter engine penalty had the effect of taking the strain off recruit Albon in as he’s played himself to the group that it has avoided a direct qualifying comparison between him Verstappen. Verstappen made an outstanding Singapore qualifying lap annually to place himself even though a motor glitch on the front and such a level of functionality is the bar where Albon is going to be quantified.
Singapore was Mercedes’ only bogey track, as highlighted in 2015 by an off-the-pace performance. But since then it has mastered the place. From the conception of the W10, some of their efficiency of Mercs was surrendered in order to prioritise downforce beneath the new aero regs. This has been a strength of the automobile this year through pace corners. In fact, its performance profile is currently very much like that of the Red Bull, feeble and every strong in exactly the locations.
Everything points around the roads to a super-close battle between Red Bull and Mercedes, continuing where they left off at Hungary. Verstappen and hamilton are effective at forcing against each other into the outer borders of possibility between the walls. They shared with the front row and did the same in Hungary this season until the two low-downforce tracks were visited by F1. On this event, Verstappen took pole just because he was able to get his tyres up to optimum temperature prior to Hamilton and the corner didn’t. But this was partly because wear had been uttered by Mercedes for its race – and didn’t indeed have the quicker car at Budapest over the Sunday.
The pointers are this will be a fantastically event.

When’s the Singapore GP on Sky?
There may not be a starker contrast between Singapore and Monza last week. The road circuit around the city state demands the absolute reverse, whereas the Italian track is all about low drag even at the expense of downforce.
Singapore is approximately two times as sensitive to downforce as Monza, as measured by how much lap period that a given increase in downforce will buy. On the other hand, it is less than half as debilitating to drag. In terms of the electricity sensitivity of the track, Singapore is down close to the bottom of the list, with extra power worth only across two-thirds of this lap time that it might benefit you with Monza.

Red Bull has traditionally flown about Singapore since it’s invariably produced a car with a spread of downforce throughout the speed ranges. Considering its mid-season updates, the RB15 has conformed to this pattern and the team has been quite selective about when to present its updated Honda Spec 4 power units namely to maximise its chances round a track in.
This downforce brings with it an associated cost in haul and consequently at Monza and Spa the car was not seen at its finest – which is why those races had been picked for the motor penalties of Max Verstappen along with Alex Albon respectively.
